A place to socialize

The Center offers opportunities for social gatherings. Meals are served at noon Monday through Friday, on a contribution basis, for seniors ages 60+

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels provides delivered meals Monday through Friday to homebound seniors.

Events and activities

The Center offers activities such as exercise groups, table games, a book club, movie screenings, Bible study, quilting, and trips.

Y.E.S. Youth Empowerment Services

Empowerment Through Education

The Center supports academic success by matching students' academic needs with available services. We assist parents in working with schools to assess student needs and plan support strategies.

Empowerment Through Leadership Skills

The Center provides opportunities for our youth to participate in leadership training at school as well as in the community. Youth are encouraged to take on the challenges of leadership in other areas of life such as home, school and community.

Empowerment Through Work and Work Ethic

The Center offers a Summer Work Program for youth ages 13 to 15. The youth are matched with one of the Center's partner organizations where they work 15 hrs per week, receive a weekly stipend, and save part of their earnings until program's end.

Serving The Entire Community

Community Outreach

The Center offers aid to individuals and families in need of assistance through:

*Referring those in crisis situations to financial assistance programs and services

*On-site counseling services for individuals and families

Resources Referral

The Center serves to connect those in need with needed financial assistance programs and services such as:

Utility payment assistance [avoid disconnection]

Rent assistance

Water bill assistance

Community Events and Activities

The Jesse Cosby Neighborhood Center regularly hosts events and activities  designed to strengthen community bonds such as Neighborhood Get-Togethers, Volunteer Appreciation Cookouts, The Black & White Gala, and the Community Garden

Victims of Crime Program (VOCA)


*Victims of Crime [VOCA] Program assists and supports families affected by domestic abuse/sexual assault, incarceration, human trafficking, identity theft

*We provide:

--assistance with expenses incurred due to violence

--counseling for individuals and families

No One With Out A Home (NOWOAH)

*NOWOAH/No One Without a Home Program provides assistance in breaking the cycle of poverty:

--helping individuals/families determine goals

--providing assistance in getting back into school, even if there are defaulted loans

--finding jobs for program participants

--financial literacy education

*Connecting to families and forming trusting relationships that enhance individual strengths and increase positive community involvement. 

*Skill Building Services--A trained and professional specialist will work with you and your family to improve your child's skills and learn appropriate ways to manage and improve their behavior, such as:

--Anger Management

--Coping Skills
